NASA Fire Fighters Lose Jobs and Station 3

Late in the month, NASA finally addressed our issues regarding the closure of Station 3 at Kennedy Space Center and the loss of nearly 20 high-paying Union jobs. After some extensive work with Congressman Bill Posey's office, NASA admitted that the initial press release sent to Channel 9 (WFTV) that outlined their extensive research efforts prior to making the decision to close Station 3 was in fact false. NASA, in their response to our FOIA request for information about the extensive study, admitted no study ever took place and the final decision to close Station 3 was based upon trying to save money. Sadly, because of NASA inability to perform a sincere study of Station 3's calls, the First Responders working in that station and others were walked out the gate at midnight September 30th. The union will continue to seek funding for this station as well as fight for the well deserved severance pay that Chenega Infinity is now refusing to pay.
